When MRI Findings Don’t Equal Injury
—Why Onsite Physiotherapy Matters More Than Imaging in Workplace Shoulder Pain
Read moreEmploy Health is dedicated to promoting workplace health and safety, and in this blog, we will explore the THINK F.A.S.T. method for recognizing stroke symptoms, the importance of improving stroke awareness in the workplace, and how businesses can support their workers’ health.
A stroke occurs when blood flow to a part of the brain is interrupted or reduced, preventing brain tissue from getting the necessary oxygen and nutrients. Prompt recognition and treatment are crucial for minimizing the long-term effects of a stroke. The THINK F.A.S.T. method is an easy-to-remember tool that helps identify common stroke symptoms:
Ask the person to smile. Does one side of their face droop?
Ask the person to raise both arms. Does one arm drift downward?
Ask the person to repeat a simple phrase. Is their speech slurred or strange?
If you observe any of these symptoms, call emergency services immediately. Time is critical in stroke treatment.
August is Stroke Awareness Month, a vital opportunity for businesses to educate their employees about the signs of stroke and the importance of swift action. By promoting stroke awareness and implementing supportive measures, businesses can protect their workforce, reduce absenteeism, and foster a healthier, more productive workplace. Employ Health is committed to helping businesses create safer, healthier work environments through comprehensive health and wellness programs. Let’s work together to make stroke awareness a priority and safeguard the well-being of our employees.
