Worker’s compensation claims for psychological injury are on the rise, worker exodus is increasing & businesses are often left scratching their heads as to how to understand & address their Psychosocial Risk. Employ Health has utilized research from the working landscape across the country to bring psychosocial risk assessments into our service offering.
A Psychosocial Risk Assessment involves the screening of tasks, environments and the workplace itself for underlying psychosocial risk. Employ Health uses evidence-based, validated screening tools to capture this risk and report back to the business in real-time. These assessments lay the foundation for controls and interventions to create a mentally safe workplace.
Employ Health uses two key tools: The People at Work assessment & the APHIRM (Participative Hazard Identification and Risk Management) toolkit. The People at Work assessment is Australia’s only validated psychosocial risk assessment survey. The survey assesses the most common psychosocial risks within your business and identifies and controls risks to psychological health at work. The APHIRM toolkit builds upon evidence-based workplace risk assessments by assessing not only the manual risk of a job but also the psychosocial risk.
Much like physical risk, identifying psychosocial risk allows you to put in place controls that mitigate their effects.
WHS Laws require that employers manage risks from hazards, including work-related psychosocial hazards.
Many workplaces aspire to be a place that people love to be a part of. Having a mentally healthy workplace is a bedrock of becoming an Employer of Choice.
At Employ Health, we pride ourselves on managing risk through our Worker, Work & Workplace paradigm. We utilize the latest evidence-based toolkits along with our real-time Data Management System to assess & deliver assessments across all areas of your business
We firmly believe that to become an Employer of Choice, you need to drive your systems & processes towards cultural improvement. Having a mentally safe workplace allows businesses to cultivate better relationships between workers, supervisors & managers.
Great data is only as great as the controls that follow. At Employ Health, we pride ourselves on our involvement in the controls through integrating our Health Hub services into the process. From developing supportive & capable leaders through training to nationwide risk & cultural engagement initiatives, we leverage the power of our data to enact widespread solutions for business.
While having Mental Health First Aid Trainers is a boon to creating a mentally safe workplace, training is not essential in fostering this environment.
