Employ Health physiotherapists are experienced in providing ergonomic training services across a range of industries, including to some of Australia’s largest organisations.
Ergonomic workstation setup training ensures mobile workers know how to set up their workspace in the best possible ergonomic way to prevent musculoskeletal disorders. Mobile office training helps you look after your on the road workers.
A large proportion of the workforce is also spending an increasing amount of time in vehicles and Employ Health’s mobile ergonomic workstation setup training is designed to ensure workers have the best possible set up whilst on the road.
Mobile ergonomic workstation training encompasses all key safety and injury prevention considerations for workers when using a vehicle. Training includes:
Safety is the number one priority when driving a vehicle. Key safety considerations are taught to the worker to minimise the risk of accident whilst driving.
Workers are taught basic injury prevention methods to minimise risk of injury and discomfort following a period of prolonged sitting in a vehicle.
The worker's individual vehicle is assessed by a trained physiotherapist to identify the correct ergonomic position. Workers are then trained to set up their vehicle in the most ideal ergonomic manner for their dimensions, to reduce load on the lower back and neck.
One of our partners asked us to address a high incidence of strain and sprain claims for their workers. This business had a majority of their workforce in vehicles working in the sales field. Following the completion of Mobile Ergonomic Workstation Set up training, these workers were able to correctly set up their vehicle in the ideal ergonomic environment and demonstrate key injury prevention principles. The business subsequently reduced injury claims by 63% in just 18 months.
The Australian and New Zealand Workforce has an increasing number of workers spending an ever increasing amount of time in vehicles. Whilst there is a growing trend for ergonomic workstations in the office environment, the position a worker is in whilst driving is commonly overlooked. There is a substantial amount of evidence linking prolonged sitting with musculoskeletal disorders, particularly for neck and lower back pain. The ergonomics of the driver seat is a vital measure to prevent these disorders and keep your workforce healthy.
The area of vehicle ergonomics is often overlooked and not commonly provided by standard providers. Employ Health has identified Vehicle Ergonomics as a key injury prevention tool to the workplace and has a wealth of experience providing this service to our partners over many years.
As a leading performer in Workplace Health, Employ Health’s team of physiotherapists are all held to an extremely high standard of performance. Physiotherapists are trained to conduct thorough ergonomic vehicle assessments and train the worker to set up their vehicle correctly.
Employ Health currently provides assessments across a multitude of workplaces and industries. We recognise the fact that different workplaces and roles will have different requirements that do not benefit a one-size fits all assessment approach. Prior to commencing training we will establish the individual requirements of the training for the workplace and adapt the assessment and to to meet the needs of the partner.
Any worker who is required to use a vehicle should partake in this training. Training can also be considered for workers who experience long commutes to and from the workplace.
Mobile Ergonomic Workstation Setup Training encompasses all key safety and injury prevention considerations for workers when using a vehicle. Training includes:
Mobile Ergonomic Workstation Set up Training can take place at the workplace. Ideally workers should have access to their vehicle for the practical component of training.
